Simione™ Healthcare Consultants

A Fond Farewell: Tom Boyd, VP of Reimbursable Services

Tom Boyd, MBA, CFE, CHFP

Simione Healthcare Consultants extends warm wishes to Thomas Boyd of Petaluma, CA, who retires from the firm on June 5, after serving more than six years as Vice President of Reimbursable Services and overseeing the top cost report team in the home health and hospice industry.

An industry leader of more than 40 years in finance, cost reporting and Medicare reimbursement, Tom has chosen to define retirement in his typically compelling and gregarious style by taking on a new endeavor in private duty home care as President and CEO of Aftercare Nursing Services, Cheektowaga, NY.  As we celebrate what he has dubbed “a great run in cost report preparation”, we salute his continuing commitment to the industry that has included longstanding collaboration with the National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC) and the Home Health Financial Managers Association (HHFMA) workgroup.

A frequent national and state speaker on home health financial and compliance issues, Tom joined Simione in 2014 with the acquisition of his firm, Boyd & Nicholas, which he co-founded in 1993.  Since then, he has led efforts to help expand Simione’s services in cost reporting and finance for post-acute care. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the 2013 NAHC Financial Managers Conference for his “drive to secure professionalism in the financial management of home health and hospice, his ever present willingness to support the home care community, his never ending passion for accurate cost reporting, his unique and highly informative educational programs, and his deep belief in a team concept.”

Simione is pleased to offer a sincere thank you to Tom for his outstanding service and dedication, and for the difference he has made for home care and hospice providers across the country. We are extremely grateful for his expertise and distinguished service.  Best wishes, Tom, on your next venture in private duty services!
