December 10th - 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Presenter: Karen Bommelje, RN, BSN, HCS-D, CHC, Senior Manager, Simione Healthcare Consultants
Compliance and ethics are crucial to operating successful home health and hospice agencies as our industry faces an ever-increasing amount of scrutiny and government oversight. A robust Compliance and Ethics Program is essential for daily operations and to ensure your agency's long-term viability. It may not be a question of “if” your agency is ever under investigation, but rather “when” your agency will be under the microscope. It is becoming increasingly necessary to ensure your Risk and Compliance Program meets the Federal Sentencing Guidelines (FSG).
In this session, we will look at specific CIAs and how closely mirrored they are to the FSG, as well as:
- The seven elements of a Compliance Program
- How to evaluate the effectiveness of your current Compliance Plan
- How an effective Compliance Plan will assist in reducing risk in today’s healthcare environment
